当古诗词遇上英文，会擦出怎样的火花？

文学是世界的，思想也是世界的。

不可否认，西方文明也诞生了很多伟大的作品，就诗歌的本质而言，没有高低上下。

但作为一种承载思想的载体，中文特殊的节奏感，夹杂其中的典故，配合时代背景，人物性格，万象皆可游刃其中。这就是英文诗歌所不能媲美的。

其实这个问题可以让外国文学爱好者参与，或许更能一较高下。

英汉两种语言本质上的偏爱使得诗歌的互译显得十分困难，甚至不可能。

汉语诗词爱用奇词偏字和典故，平常小词被认为是没水平的。英语则爱使用小词，即Anglo-Saxon word, 这种词才能使人动情。要兼顾这两种截然不同的偏爱是十分困难的。
