Embracing Your Enemy
Across a small drugstore, a large chain store was newly opened and would defeat the business of the small drugstore.
The shopkeeper of the drugstore went to a priest to talk about his concern. The priest suggested, “You stand in front of your store every day to pray for it to prosper, and then turn around to pray for that chain store likewise, that is, to embrace your enemy in public.”
Some days later, as what the shopkeeper worried, his store shut down, but he was appointed as the manager of the chain store, and earned more than before.
小鸟的眼睛
An ancient Indian sage was teaching his disciples the archery. He put a wooden bird as the target and asked them to aim at the eye of the bird. The first disciple was asked to describe what he saw. He said, “I see the trees, the branches, the leaves, the sky, the bird and its eyes.”
The sage asked this disciple to wait. Then he asked the second disciple the same question and he replied, “Only the eye of the bird.” The sage said, “Very good. Then shoot.” The arrow went straight and hit the eye of the bird.
幸福就是投入
Under the scorching sun, an old man sat by the bank staring at the buoy on the river. From dawn to dusk he still got nothing in his hands. However, the old man was happy at ease. I felt so puzzled about it.
The old man said with a smile,”I’m the fish and the fish is me, I’m fishing and I’m also being fished; like playing chess, the fish and I have such an equal stamina that I have a wonderful time.” At this point, an urchin threw a stone into the water. A circle of ripples wafted over. The old man said, “The wind rises.”
Life is a chess game while happiness is devotion.
