一、《The Lion and the Mouse》
Once upon a time, there was a big, scary lion who lived in the jungle. One day, a tiny mouse accidentally ran over the lion's paw. The lion was furious and decided to eat the mouse. But the clever mouse begged for mercy and promised to help the lion one day.
Several months later, while the lion was sleeping, hunters came and captured him with a net. The mouse, remembering the lion's mercy, saw the lion in trouble and quickly started nibbling on the ropes of the net. With the mouse's help, the lion managed to escape.
The story teaches us that kindness is never wasted, no matter how small the act may be.
二、《The Tortoise and the Hare》
Once upon a time, there was a tortoise who was very slow but determined. He challenged the speedy and arrogant hare to a race. The hare laughed and said, "You are so slow, it's impossible for you to win!"
During the race, the hare was so confident that he took a nap. The tortoise, however, kept moving slowly and steadily. When the hare woke up, he saw the tortoise near the finish line. He ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise won the race.
This story tells us that "slow and steady wins the race" and that overconfidence can lead to failure.
三、《The Ant and The Grasshopper》
One summer day, a hardworking ant was busy collecting food for the winter. The grasshopper, on the other hand, was enjoying the sunshine and singing all day long. The ant warned the grasshopper about the hard times that would come, but the grasshopper ignored her.
When winter arrived, the ant had plenty of food to survive, while the grasshopper was starving. The grasshopper regretted not listening to the ant and realized the importance of hard work and preparation.
The moral of the story is that hard work and planning ahead are crucial for success.
四、《The Boy Who Cried Wolf》
A shepherd boy was bored and decided to play a prank on the villagers. He shouted, "Wolf! Wolf!" even though there wasn't a wolf. The villagers came running to help him, only to find out that it was a false alarm.
The boy found this prank amusing and shouted "wolf" again. The villagers were angry but still came to his rescue. Finally, when a wolf truly appeared and the boy cried for help, the villagers thought it was another prank and ignored him. The wolf attacked the sheep, and the boy learned a hard lesson.
This story shows us that lying and deceiving others will only lead to a loss of trust and credibility.
