如何理解泰戈尔诗中根是地下的枝，枝是空中的根

1、从自然形态看，一般树木，枝在空中伸展占多大范围，根在地下也占多大范围；若画一张图，以地面为镜面，枝、根就像实象与虚像。所以说，“根是地下的枝，枝是空中的根”。
2、枝和根对“树”来说同等重要。这可以用于多种比喻。比如，社会中有劳动者，有管理者，管理者往往以高等人自居，鄙是劳动者，这是泰戈尔不同意的。他早年主张“把一切交给爱”，晚年则把更多的同情给劳动者。“根是地下的枝，枝是地上的根”表现他对人类平等的想往。
